The second series of Celebrity Traitors is just around the corner.
The BBC has confirmed the start date for the beginning of October, with famous faces heading to Scotland to play the ultimate game of trust, deception, and strategy in hopes of winning up to £100,000 for a charity of their choice.
TV star Claudia Winkleman will once again host, as 21 celebrities take part.

When does Celebrity Traitors start?
The new series of Celebrity Traitors is confirmed to return on Thursday, October 1.
The show will air twice weekly on Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm and is available to watch on both BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
The official video podcast and spin-off show, The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked, will also be back on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, and BBC Sounds.
Hosted by Ed Gamble, the podcast features exclusive interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and reactions from both banished and "murdered" players.
There will also be exclusive bonus episodes available immediately after the main show on BBC Sounds, with extended celebrity interviews and in-depth gameplay analysis.
New for 2026 is a special titled Traitor or Faithful? Claudia Decides.
It will reveal how Claudia selects her Traitors and offer a more personal look at the contestants and give viewers fresh insight into her decision-making process.

A fresh line-up of 21 celebrity contestants will be descending on the Scottish Highlands.
Claudia Winkleman returns as host, guiding the celebrities through each dramatic twist and turn.

Formerly the media editor of BBC News, he presented the Today programme on BBC Radio 4 from 2021 to 2026 and was editor of The Independent newspaper between 2013 and 2016.
Many will recognise him as the presenter of University Challenge on BBC Two, a role he has had since taking over from Jeremy Paxman in 2023.
Bella Ramsey
Actor
Bella Ramsey is an actor best known for their breakthrough as Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones (2016–2019).
Ramsey went on to play Ellie in the post-apocalyptic drama The Last of Us (2023–present), earning several awards and nominations.

James Acaster
Comedian and Podcaster
James Acaster is a comedian, presenter, podcaster, actor and musician, likely best known for co-hosting the food podcast Off Menu with Ed Gamble.
He is an award-winning comedian, has written three books, and also appears in the film Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.

James Blunt

James Blunt is a singer, best known for hits like You're Beautiful and Goodbye My Lover, having sold millions of albums worldwide and received several awards, including two Brit Awards.
Before becoming a singer, Blunt served six years in the army, providing skills that will likely be useful on the Celebrity Traitors show.

Jerry Hall

Irish comedian Joanne McNally began stand-up in the mid 2010s, and has gone on to feature in shows such as The Big Fat Quiz of Everything and Taskmaster.
She also co-hosts the award-winning podcast My Therapist Ghosted Me with Vogue Williams since April 2021.
Joe Lycett
Comedian
Joe Lycett is a hugely popular comedian who has appeared on many TV shows, including Live at the Apollo, Taskmaster and 8 Out of 10 Cats, and QI.
Many will have also seen him as the presenter on BBC Two's The Great British Sewing Bee.
Julie Hesmondhalgh

Actor Julie Claire Hesmondhalgh is best known for her role as Hayley Cropper in Coronation Street from 1998 to 2014, a role for which she won "Best Serial Drama Performance" at the 2014 National Television Awards and "Best Actress" at the 2014 British Soap Awards.
Other TV roles include in Happy Valley and Broadchurch, as well as on stage in shows such as God Bless the Child and Punch, for which she won the 2026 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock

Many will know Leigh-Anne Pinnock as a member of the girl group Little Mix alongside Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson, before beginning her solo career in 2023.
As part of the group, she won three Brit Awards, and her debut solo album, My Ego Told Me To, reached number three on the album charts in the UK.

Maya Jama

Maya Jama rose to prominence as a presenter on MTV and BBC Radio 1, but is now most recognised as the presenter of Love Island, a role she has had since 2023.
Since 2025, the star has also appeared as a panellist on The Masked Singer, alongside Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall and Jonathan Ross.
Michael Sheen

Ross Kemp

Where is Celebrity Traitors filmed?
Celebrity Traitors, just like the main series, is filmed at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands.
The castle is located near the town of Alness, about 30 miles north of Inverness.
It is a 19th-century Scottish baronial-style castle set in over 100 acres of parkland on the banks of the River Alness.
However, local sights like Loch Glass and nearby areas are often used for outdoor challenges and water-based missions.
The property is available as a wedding venue, with its popularity rising since its appearances in The Traitors.

Who hosts Celebrity Traitors?
Claudia Winkleman hosts Celebrity Traitors, just as she does the main series.
How does the game work?
The show is based on the Dutch series De Verraders and features a group of contestants who get divided into "faithfuls" and a small number of "traitors".
It then works similarly to Mafia or Werewolf, where the faithfuls have to figure out the identity of the traitors.
Meanwhile, the traitors work to eliminate all the other contestants by 'murder' or getting them banished from the game at a daily roundtable vote.
What do winners receive?
The winners of The Traitors get up to a maximum of £120,000 for the UK version.
The final amount depends on how much money the group successfully adds to the prize fund during challenges throughout the season.
It can be shared among several winners or all taken by one, but if any traitors are left at the end of the game, they will take all of the money.
How many episodes of The Traitors are there?
In each regular series of The Traitors, there have been 12 episodes, airing over four weeks.
Last year's first series of Celebrity Traitors had nine episodes, also airing over four weeks.
Is Celebrity Traitors different from The Traitors?
The celebrity spin-off is different in the fact that it sees celebrities take on the challenges and the Traitors game.
However, the game works the same way, aside from twists that may air during each series.
The key difference is that the prize money is for charity in the celebrity version.
