The launch date for the second series of The Celebrity Traitors has been announced.
The hit BBC reality gameshow will return on October 1, with an extended opening episode airing at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, the show will once again see celebrities compete for a chance to win up to £100,000 for a charity of their choice.
Set in a Scottish castle, the game challenges contestants to identify the "traitors" hiding among them, who scheme to eliminate fellow players under the cover of night.

The line-up for this year’s series includes high-profile names such as Maya Jama, Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart, Amol Rajan, Bella Ramsey, James Acaster, James Blunt, Jerry Hall, Joanne McNally, Joe Lycett, Julie Hesmondhalgh, King Kenny, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Myha’la, Professor Hannah Fry, Richard E Grant, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp, Sebastian Croft, and Sharon Rooney.
In a newly released trailer, the celebrity contestants meet in a church before a knock on the door reveals Winkleman, who then delivers her trademark message.
She said: "I’m just putting the final touches to my favourite game, players, I have chosen my Traitors, the game is on, there are now killers among you.
"Fame won’t save them."
The first series, which aired last autumn, drew huge audiences with its dramatic twists and celebrity cast.
Viewers saw actor Sir Stephen Fry, comedian Alan Carr, and broadcaster Jonathan Ross among the competitors, with Carr ultimately winning as a Traitor.
The finale peaked at 15.4 million viewers, according to the BBC.
A spin-off show, Traitors: Uncloaked, will air alongside the main series on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, and BBC Sounds.
Audiences will also get a behind-the-scenes look at how Winkleman selects the Traitors in a special episode titled Traitor Or Faithful? Claudia Decides, available on iPlayer.
The official launch date follows speculation after TV presenter Richard Osman and former contestant Joe Marler hinted at a September 23 premiere during a live recording of The Rest Is Entertainment podcast.

However, the BBC later confirmed the correct date as October 1.
The Celebrity Traitors returns on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 8pm, promising another season of suspense, strategy, and high-stakes gameplay.
