John Kingston hopes his Harlequins side can channel the atmosphere of the Big Game against Northampton Saints on Saturday.

As is Big Game tradition, Harlequins will swap their regular home battleground of Twickenham Stoop for Twickenham Stadium.

Quins have lost three games on the spin in all competitions this season and sit ninth in the Premiership, while Saints are enduring a torrid time after six straight defeats leaves them languishing in tenth.

Having recently parted company with the long-serving Jim Mallinder, Alan Gaffney will oversee first-team proceedings until the end of the season.

The hosts will see this as a chance to take advantage of an out of sorts Saints side on an occasion rich in tradition and fervour.

"Big Game is always a date that the squad look for when the fixtures are announced at the start of the season,” said Kingston.

"It is a fantastic celebration of all the good things that Harlequins stand for as an organisation from top to bottom.

"It is, however, very important that we get the right result - one win makes a huge difference given how incredibly congested the league table is and the group are extremely determined to make Big Game 10 a winning one.”
