WELCOMING high-flying Wolves to Loftus Road might seem like a daunting prospect but Ian Holloway is revelling in the challenge.

QPR's winless run in the league stretches back to September 9 - seven games in total including a defeat at home to rivals Fulham.

Wolves, meanwhile, are two points clear at the top of the Championship and have won their last three league games.

But the R's boss isn’t fazed by Nuno’s side making their way to west London and believes the contest is a good opportunity for the QPR players to showcase their ability.

He said: “This fixture is a fantastic challenge for us and one that we can’t wait for.

“Let’s see how we do. I think we’ve given everyone a game so far – and equally, everyone is capable of giving us a game. That’s the Championship at the moment.”

Idrissa Sylla’s header gave Holloway’s side a point against struggling Bolton Wonderers and the QPR boss wants his side to build on the positives.

“At the moment, the pressure is on that final ball to be a good one but, for me, that’s the last thing we want,” Holloway said.

“That needs to be inspirational, that needs to be free. You can only be unlucky so many times and it’s not been one person – it’s been almost everybody.

“Results may be frustrating at the moment but we have to keep building, keep improving and continue to get more of an understanding – particularly in that final third.

“Wolves have been more consistent than everybody else at getting the points that they need.

“Well done to them. I love the way that they try to do it, because it’s very different. They defend with five players, and also attack with five. And they very rarely have to change that.

“They drop into a 5-4-1, which is very difficult to break down, and they counter-attack very quickly. They keep the ball and can move you around.”
