Tim Visser knows his Harlequins’ team-mates need to show consistency if they are put a run together to climb the Premiership table.

Visser crossed twice in Quins’ 50-21 thumping of a woefully out of sorts Northampton Saints in Big Game 10 at Twickenham on December 30.

In front of more than 77,000 fans, Quins turned on the style as they ran in seven tries, Danny Care scoring twice with Dave Ward, Charlie Walker and Matt Luamanu also crossing the whitewash.

Marcus Evans starred at fly-half, kicking six conversions and a penalty, while Rob Horne, Nic Groom and Mikey Haywood dotted down in the second half for the visitors.

Next up for Visser and Quins is a trip to Sale Sharks on Saturday, with Steve Diamond’s outfit one place above John Kingston’s men in the league.

“We talked about consistency in the changing room after the [Saints match],” said Dutch-born Scotland wing Visser, who was making his 50th appearance in Quins colours.

“We needed a lot of points from this run of four games. And the points against Saints won’t count for anything unless we back it up against Sale.”

Visser was delighted to get on the scoresheet on such a prestigious stage and waxed lyrical about the Quins faithful for their constant backing of the side.

“I don’t think any other club in the world can do this,” added the 30-year-old. “It’s unbelievable – it shows why the Stoop is always full if you can get 70-80,000 at Twickenham.

“It helped us to victory like it always does in our home games and we’re very grateful.”
