Harlequins Women have signed Australian international Emily Chancellor ahead of the upcoming Allianz Premier 15s season.
Chancellor, who currently plays for the New South Wales Waratahs, will join up with the Quins squad following the Rugby World Cup which will take place this October and November.
Australia are set to take on hosts New Zealand and Wales at the World Cup, and also Scotland where the flanker could come up against future teammates Jade Konkel and Sarah Bonar.
“I’m so excited to come across to the UK to join such a prestigious club and be involved in a strong women’s team in a competition that is leading the standards for the women’s game across the world,” said Chancellor.
“I’m looking forward to learning some of the English game style with Quins as well as bringing some experience from Oz and my energy. I can’t wait to rip in with the girls.”

Chancellor is currently in the Australian squad for the 2022 Pacific Four Series, where the Wallaroos began their campaign with a loss to New Zealand.
She has played nine times for her country and has played Super W rugby for NSW Waratahs since 2019.
“We’re absolutely delighted to have Emily join the Club after the World Cup later this year,” added Harlequins Women Head Coach Amy Turner.
“She has showcased her world class talent both for the Waratahs and the Wallaroos. We can’t wait to see her run out in the Famous Quarters.”
Quins will hope Chancellor’s arrival boosts their chance of Allianz Premier 15s glory this coming season.
Turner’s side lost 30-10 to Saracens Women in the semi-finals last season, with Sarries going on to beat Exeter Chiefs Women in the final.
Saracens will be favourites to claim the title though Quins will once again be one of their main contenders for the title.
