QPR matchwinner Ilias Chair believes his side are in for a tough test when they travel to the Weston Homes Stadium to take on Peterborough this weekend.

Chair’s 83rd minute strike against a stubborn Blackburn Rovers helped the Rs to a 1-0 win in midweek, moving them up to fifth in the Championship table.

That came just three days after Mark Warburton’s side were embarrassed by London rivals Fulham, who trounced them in a 4-1 drubbing at Craven Cottage.

Chair admits he was over the moon with his late winner as his side look to continue their impressive start to the Championship campaign.

“It was a great feeling,” said the Moroccan international.

“We knew we had to get the win, especially after the disappointing defeat to Fulham.

“We put a lot of pressure on ourselves heading into this one, there was only one thing on our mind and that was to win the game.

“It’s the Championship so every single team will give us a tough game if we want to get the win, so credit to Blackburn - they played us really well, but we got the goal, got the three points and that is the most important thing.”

Saturday’s away clash sees QPR take on a side who have yet to kickstart their season, with Peterborough sitting in 20th after a difficult start.

Posh, who were promoted from League One last term, have lost eight of their opening 13 games so far, but did pick up a 2-1 win in midweek at Hull City courtesy of a second half strike from Siriki Dembele.

Despite the disparity in league position between the two sides, QPR are taking nothing for granted, with Chair and co eager to entertain the travelling Rs’ support on Saturday afternoon.

“Saturday’s game will be another tough one,” said Chair.

“So we have to be ready for it and I can’t wait.

“We are going to have some great support, so we have to make sure that we entertain them and hopefully we give them a win and a great day out.”
