EALING Cricket Club got back to winning ways with a 92-run defeat of Twickenham at Corfton Road on Saturday (12) after back-to-back defeats in the Middlesex League.

Ealing got off to their customary quick start with 22 off 18 deliveries from Oli Wilkin before Scott Ensom (63) and Tom Shaw (56) set the foundations for a competitive score with a partnership of 95.

Former England ace Monty Panesar is turning out for Twickenham while studying a masters degree at St Mary's University, and the left-arm spinner bowled an impressive 25-over spell, taking 4-52, as Ealing needed the maximum 66 overs to post a solid 249.

Twickenham's chances of chasing down the score were effectively ended as player-of-the-match Scott Ensom ripped through their top order with 3-31.

Though Ealing had to be patient, Ben Ladd Gibbon's 3-24 helped dismiss the visitors for 157.
