JERRY Flannery is backing Harlequins to right the wrongs from last weekend’s defeat and get straight back to winning ways as they welcome Northampton Saints to The Stoop on Sunday.

The 25-22 loss at Newcastle Falcons last time out ended Quins’ four-match winning streak but the south-west Londoners remain third in the table going into Round 12.

Northampton saw a resurgent run of their own halted by Bath last weekend and arrive in the capital knowing they will leapfrog their hosts with a win.

Experienced pair Danny Care and Mike Brown are back in the Quins starting XV and Flannery, the club’s lineout and defensive coach, is expecting an improved display.

“As a team we know we fell short against Newcastle last weekend,” he said. “However, that hasn’t shaken our belief in what we know we do well.

“Northampton will provide a different challenge for us this weekend and we’re looking forward to putting things right with a home win at The Stoop.

“It should be a good contest this weekend, with both sides traditionally looking to play some rugby. However, we know we’ll have to be sharp at set-piece time, too, which has been a real improvement area for Saints over the last few weeks.”

Care and Brown are among six changes made to the side beaten in the north-east, with lock Dino Lamb set for his first appearance of the calendar year.

Scott Baldwin, Archie White and Alex Dombrandt join the 22-year-old in returning to the pack as the hosts bid for a first double over the Saints since 2013.
