Ealing Trailfinders director of rugby Ben Ward insists his side are aiming to pile pressure on league leaders Newcastle with another victory ahead of their clash against Coventry.

The west Londoners are on a seven-match win streak and are looking to maintain their perfect start to 2020 by rounding off this block of matches with another victory.

Ealing have an unbeaten record against Coventry this season, winning two and drawing one of their three meetings so far.

Speaking ahead of the tie, Ward said: “Every game is important for us and we know that we need to keep winning to keep up the pressure at the top of the table.

"It’s been a short turnaround from the Jersey game so we have had to prepare extremely well for this game which will be a great challenge. We’re enjoying our rugby at the moment and want to keep improving every game.”

Ward has made four changes to the starting-line up who booked themselves a spot in the Championship Cup semi-finals against Jersey Reds last week with Will David, Alun Walker and Elliot Millar Mills making up the front row.

Sam Dickinson and Harry Casson both start in the second row, while Kieran Murphy, Adam Korczyk and captain Rayn Smid will operate in the back row.

Nathan Fowles and Craig Willis remain in the half-backs after their impressive performances against the Reds last week as well as Harry Sloan and Jack Tovey in midfield.

Coventry will face a back-three of Reon Joseph, Pat Howard and Peter Lydon.

Matt Cornish, Jake Ellwood and George Davis provide front-row cover from the bench with Ben West, Shane Buckley, Craig Hampson, Steven Shingler and David Johnston completing the matchday squad.
