A TABLE tennis prospect from Ealing was among the winners at the West London regional final of the Jack Petchey London & Essex Schools Singles Championships.
They were run in partnership with Table Tennis England on Saturday at Oak Wood School, Hillingdon.
Celebrating its 10th year, the event attracted 82 players from 12 schools across Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow. Age groups were U11, U13, U16 and U19.
The U13 boys event was won by George Stanev, 12, of Elthorne Park High School, Hanwell. In the final, he beat Tom Lohan, also 12, from Kew House School, Hounslow.
Winners of the regional competitions progress to the singles final on April 4 at the University of East London.
More than 6,000 students have played in competitions during the last year and more than 100 tables have been donated to schools and youth clubs.
