Thomas Frank has thrown all his weight behind David Raya after a mistake from the goalkeeper gifted Millwall a 1-0 win over Brentford.
The Bees boss admitted that his shot stopper was at fault for Aiden O’Brien’s early winner at The Den but was adamant that the club still has one of the best keepers in the division.
Fulham’s win over Stoke meant Brentford dropped a place down to fourth ahead of their New Year’s Day trip to Bristol City.
Frank believes it was that one solitary mistake that led to his side’s Downfall on Sunday and he won’t want to see it repeated if they are to continue their push for promotion this year.
"We gave them the goal and it's no secret that David made a mistake but I think he's been absolutely amazing this season," he said.
"For me, he's potentially the best keeper in the division. Football is a game of mistakes, that happens, we'll move on.
"I think we've played out from the back so far in, what, 25 games?
“We made one mistake that cost a goal and I'd happily take that risk because it gives us an advantage.
"The rest of the game we were chasing and Millwall made it difficult for us. We also need to give them a bit of credit for that because normally we are extremely dangerous going forward."
