Mark Warburton says QPR have swooped to sign two proven performers in Marc Pugh and Todd Kane.

Winger Pugh, 32, and 25-year-old right-back Kane have bolstered the Championship side's ranks ahead of next weekend's season opener against Stoke City.

The R's have been active in the transfer market of late, making the pair their ninth and tenth signings of the summer after bringing in Geoff Cameron midweek.

“Todd is a player who I’ve watched right throughout the academy system," said the Loftus Road chief.

“He joined Chelsea at the young age, and I watched his performances for Hull last season, where he showed his qualities as an attack-minded and technically-gifted full-back.

“He has a real desire to play the game with intensity, so we’re delighted to see him join us.”

Kane, who played 41 games on loan at Hull City last season, arrives at Loftus Road on a three-year contract after leaving west London rivals Chelsea in the summer.

Versatile attacker Pugh has signed a one-year deal with the West London-based club – with the option of a further year, following a nine-year stay at AFC Bournemouth.

During that period, the 32-year-old helped to establish the Cherries in the Premier League and like Kane, also spent last season on loan at Hull.

Warburton added: “Marc has quality, experience and he’ll add so much to the squad, both on and off the pitch.

“We’re thrilled to have him with us, and excited to see his contribution during the coming weeks and months.

“He’s played at the highest level and is a proven competitor. The value that Marc will bring in a mentoring role is really significant.”

The duo were unveiled during half-time of Saturday’s pre-season friendly with Watford, which the Hoops lost 1-0 after Etienne Capoue's first-half strike.
