Thomas Frank believes there is no room for error in both training and matches if Brentford are to ensure a strong finish to the season.

The Bees boss also heaped praise on Saturday’s opponents Wigan Athletic, insisting the away trip will be a difficult encounter.

Brentford return to action this weekend as they travel to the DW Stadium currently sitting in 14th in the Championship table – eight points off the play off places with 10 games to go.

After seeing their impressive home form halted before the international break by a narrow 1-0 to West Brom, Frank insists his team need to perform to their maximum in order to finish as high as possible in the league.

“We need to be perfect at living the moment,” said Frank.

“We can look ahead a little bit but we need to be so focussed and present in the daily work.

“It is good for the players and staff to have a little breather over [last[ weekend, refresh and recharge the batteries, so now we are ready to go again.”

Wigan are currently three points clear of the relegation zone and will be hoping for a victory on Saturday to increase their chances of survival.

The Latics have picked up 33 of their 39 points this season at home and Frank is under no illusions of how hard Brentford will have to work if they are to secure three points in the north west.

“They have done very well this season as a promoted side. They are very impressive at home,” said the Bees boss.

“They will come with energy, pace, and aggression, so we need to be composed on the ball and control the game when we can control the game.”

Frank also confirmed he will have almost a full squad to choose from going into this clash.

“Everybody is ready, so it’s up to me to pick,” he said.

“It could be just too early for some of them to be involved in the squad but it’s very close.

“Now it’s about fitness, form, and performance. Everybody needs to compete to keep their place.”
