The Fortune is a new Channel 5 drama series that will air on our screens tonight (June 2), starring the likes of Poldark’s Eleanor Tomlinson, EastEnders star Nina Wadia and more.
The programme follows Amanda Blackfield (Tomlinson), who lives a normal life and discovers she has inherited more than £2 million and an estate from a stranger.
Martin Worrall (Denis Lawson) has left her his inheritance despite the pair never meeting beforehand.
Amanda will attempt to work out exactly why she has inherited such a fortune and must dig up her family history and face some difficulties.
This includes her father’s disappearance, which remains unexplained, and relying on her mother, Linda (Paula Wilcox), who has dementia and a fading memory.
Alongside all of this, Amanda is trying to avoid the pressure of Martin’s relatives as they attempt to make her give up the inheritance, reports Digital Spy.

When will The Fortune be on TV?
The Fortune’s first episode will air at 9pm on Tuesday, June 2, on Channel 5, with the second episode following a day later in the same timeslot on Wednesday, June 3.
The remaining two episodes will air at 9pm on Tuesday, June 9 and Wednesday, June 10.
Episodes will also be available to watch on Channel 5's streaming service, My5.
