A FORMER Ealing cadet is sharing his real-life story as part of a poster campaign by St John Ambulance.
Zain Osmani, 23, is featuring in advertising across the country in the Ask Me campaign, to make the public think about the vital role St John plays in everyday life.
As it launched in London yesterday (14), Zain demonstrated CPR alongside St John Ambulance ambassador Mylenne Klass.
He grew up in Acton and joined St John as one of its Ealing cadets at just nine years old. It led him to study medicine and he starts work as a fully-qualified doctor next month.
During the pandemic, Zain has been volunteering with St John in an emergency ambulance crew, supporting London Ambulance Service.
In one incident, he gave emergency life-saving care to a man who lay collapsed in the street.
Martin Houghton-Brown, CEO of St John Ambulance, said: “We are well known for our presence at events but, even then, the fact we are volunteers is often missed.”
