A MARCH to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Cable Street will take place tomorrow (Sunday, October 2) in East London.
It will be attended by supporters of the London Anti-Racist Allaince, including those from Ealing and Hillingdon.
The Alliance is calling for all members, supporters, anti-racists and anti-fascists to honour those who prevented Oswald Mosley’s British Union of Fascists from marching through the East End.
On October 4, 1936, tens of thousands took to the streets to prevent the fascist demonstration, and the event is remembered as a day of dignity and unity for a vibrant and diverse community.
The event starts at the junction of Braham Street and Leman Street, at 11.30am.
