ASPIRING rockstars are being given their five minutes of fame thanks to a week-long event at HMV Oxford Street.
Music lovers who dream of being the next Killers or Kaiser Chiefs have the chance to turn up at the store any day until Sunday from between noon and 6pm to play an original track or a cover.
The week's best performer will be picked to play at Leeds and Reading festival on a special Rock-up and Play stage.
Anyone interested in this rather unusual gig simply needs to turn up to the store, register with staff and wait for their turn on the stage. If it is busy due to demand, artists can return at an allocated time.
All guitars, microphones and amps are provided.
