A PUB in Greenford is being applauded for raising more than £22,000 for good causes over the past year.

The Greenford Arms, operated by Hayleigh McNamara and part of the Craft Union Pub Company, has played a key role in Craft Union’s national Make It A Million campaign.

It involves Craft Union pubs fund-raising for charities close to their hearts. Every pound raised contributes to a collective national total, showing the power of community pubs working together.

Over the past year, the Greenford Arms has supported a wide range of causes, with three moments standing out for Hayleigh and her team.

At Easter, the pub helped organise a community collection of chocolate eggs for a care home, ensuring more than 200 residents received an Easter treat, many for the first time.

Customers, staff and locals all donated, creating what Hayleigh described as a heart-warming moment for everyone involved.

The pub also helped raise £15,000 for a man diagnosed with terminal cancer, after the community rallied to support his family.

He was self-employed and couldn’t work, so the family were struggling to pay their bills.

Activities included charity nights, raffles, hampers and golf days, helping to ensure he was able to spend time with loved ones without having to worry about money.

At Christmas, the Greenford Arms hosted its Santa event, raising funds for a nearby school and creating a magical day for the children.

With a snow machine, gifts for every child and volunteers dressing up, the event raised more than £400.

Alongside these headline moments, the pub has worked closely with a church to raise more than £10,000 through volunteering and fund-raising,

It regularly supports homeless initiatives, winter coat collections and overnight shelters.

The pub has also gone above and beyond in supporting individuals in times of need.

When much-loved regular Maureen was diagnosed with cancer and wanted to celebrate her 80th birthday at the pub, Hayleigh and her team hosted a party in her honour.

The night raised more than £600 for cancer charities and the team later stepped in to support Maureen’s family during her final days.

Hayleigh McNamara, operator of the Greenford Arms, said: “Being part of the community isn’t just about the money you raise, it’s about the impact you make and how you show up for people when they need it most.

“None of this happens without our customers and volunteers, who give their time, energy and kindness all year round.

“My team and I are so proud to be part of the Greenford family and to play our small part alongside other Craft Union pubs across the country in reaching £1m for charity.”

The Greenford Arms contributed to Craft Union raising more than £1.35m for charities nationally, achieving the £1m milestone for the second year running.
