Burnham's Grovefield House Hotel has been sold in a confidential deal handled by Colliers' specialist Hotels team.

The buyer is Uno Hotels, who have bought the country house hotel through two new companies - Cumberland Assets Ltd and Four Hillside Assets Ltd.

The undisclosed price, as well as the secrecy of the sale, reflects the property's value as one of Buckinghamshire's beloved heritage lodgings.

Situated in seven acres of Burnham Beeches, the Grovefield House Hotel dates back to the Edwardian period.

It comprises 40 en-suite bedrooms, Hamilton's Restaurant offering 80 covers, Paddocks bar and lounge with spaces for 20, meeting and wedding facilities accommodating up to 150 guests, beautifully landscaped gardens and parking for around 100 vehicles.

Vijay Singh Bhandari of Uno Hotels expressed his excitement at the acquisition: "We are delighted to have acquired The Hickstead Hotel and The Grovefield House Hotel.

"Both the hotels are fantastic historic country hotel businesses that benefit from a loyal base of both leisure and corporate visitors.

"I’m thrilled to be working with the local teams and have ambitions to update and refurbish the hotels to make them destination hotel venues to suit the calibre of guests we’re looking to welcome."

Julian Troup, the leading man of the UK Hotels Agency team at Colliers, discussed the sale: "The sale of these hotels was conducted in a highly confidential manner, and yet despite this we still managed to generate competitive interest from a diverse range of buyers, indicative of the quality of these properties and their strategic locations.

"We are off to a robust start in 2024 in the hotels market; with these sales, we have completed 17 UK hotels sales this year, and we anticipate further interest from domestic and international buyers throughout 2024."
