ACTOR Catherine Joy White, who appeared in the film Fifty-Four Days with Celia Imrie, will be giving an online talk next month.

She will be discussing her new book, This Thread of Gold, which explores the inspiration she has taken from other influential black women, like Beyoncé, Aretha Franklin and Alice Walker.

Catherine, who also works as a writer, film-maker and CEO of a production company, dedicates the book to black women who "spin gold from a life of hardship".

Alongside her other roles, she recently joined forces with the Premier League and the Premier League Charitable Fund to develop Changemakers, a gender equality and mental health programme for women and girls.

She will be in conversation with Chloe Lee, citizenship and migration researcher for the National Archives, on Wednesday, September 13, 7.30pm. This online event will be followed by an audience Q&A.
