THE head of PE at Little Ealing Primary School will be heading to Lord’s next month to watch the England v Ireland Test match as a special guest of MCC (Marylebone Cricket Club) president Stephen Fry.
It is part of an MCC campaign to celebrate grassroots cricket and find the country’s unsung cricket heroes.
Bobby Behzadi, who is also the girls coach at Actonians Cricket Club, was chosen from hundreds of nominations to be one of 11 MCC Community Cricket Heroes for his outstanding contribution to grassroots cricket.
In his role as Head of PE at Little Ealing in Weymouth Avenue, Bobby has created a legacy among the children he has coached.
The MCC Community Cricket Heroes were chosen last week by a panel which included former England stars Mike Gatting and Claire Taylor.
Bobby Behzadi added: “I honestly believe I’m just doing my job and hope the girls that come across me through cricket have had a positive experience and enjoyed being part of the cricket family.
“It humbles me that people have gone out of their way to say something positive about me.”
