TRAVELODGE, which operates nearly 600 hotels, is writing to 220 local authorities across Britain, including Ealing Council, proposing a partnership.
The chain says it can stimulate regeneration across Ealing and other boroughs.
Target areas include:
- Ealing Broadway
- South Ealing / Northfields / Southall / West Ealing / Hanwell
A letter sent to Ealing Council outlines the role that Travelodge has been playing for the last 10 years in supporting authorities by creating jobs, attracting visitors and providing a long-term income stream for councils.
Travelodge says it can expand its network with a further 300 locations across the UK and is offering councils the chance to have one or multiple hotels to support regeneration programmes.
It says that, for more than 120 towns, such as Ripon, Lichfield and Cromer, it could be an opportunity to have a first branded hotel.
A Travelodge spokesman said: “This expansion programme could represent an investment of around £3bn for third-party investors and create more than 9,000 new jobs across the UK.
Travelodge currently has a hotel on the Uxbridge Road in Ealing.
