TODAY (8), a consultation on Ealing’s Local Plan, setting out how life across all seven towns in the borough might develop, closes.

It focuses on everything from climate and transport to homes and open spaces.

The consultation has been running since the end of November and, from tomorrow, feedback will be used in a revised version of the plan.

As the consultation deadline approached, a heated debate in Ealing Town Hall on Monday took place amid a demonstration by some residents and fierce opposition from the council’s minority Liberal Democrat group.

Among Lib-Dem demands are designating the whole of Warren Farm in Windmill Road, Southall, as a nature reserve and ensuring new buildings have low-carbon heating.
