FOUR fire engines and around 25 crew tackled a blaze at a house in Scotts Road, Southall, yesterday (16).

A lean-to at the rear of a semi-detached house was destroyed.

Half of the ground floor was also damaged and the first floor and loft conversion were affected by smoke. A neighbouring home was also slightly damaged.

Two men had left the house before the brigade arrived and one was treated on the scene by an ambulance crew.

A gas cylinder involved in the fire was cooled as a precaution.

The brigade was called at 1.20pm and the fire was under control by 2.30. Crews from Southall, Hayes and Ealing attended.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
