THREE people have been charged with the murder of Shakira Spencer, who was found dead in Hanwell on Sunday.

Officers were called to Holbeck Road at 4.38pm after concerns for the a woman inside.

They forced entry and found the body of 35-year-old Shakira.

On Monday, three people were arrested on suspicion of murder: a man of 25 and two women, aged 37 and 43.

This evening (29) they were charged with murder.

They will appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

Det Chief Insp Brian Howie said: “I need to know why people would want to harm Shakira.

“I am appealing for any information about Shakira specifically in the period between Friday, September 9 and the following Friday (16.

“Did you see her out and about? Did you have contact with her in any way? If so, did she speak about any concerns she had?

“I also want to hear from anyone who knew Shakira in any capacity. We need to build a comprehensive picture of her life so we can begin to understand who might have wanted to harm her.”

Det Supt Sharon Brookes, of West Area Command, which covers Ealing, said: “I understand the alarm and concern this news will cause the community in Hanwell, where Shakira lived, and throughout the wider Ealing borough.

“Residents will see increased police activity around Holbeck Road. Please don’t be alarmed as this forms part of our response to such a serious incident.”
