EALING Broadway shopping centre welcomed children from West Acton Primary School, Woodlands Academy and St John’s Primary School for a story-telling session, aimed at helping them fall in love with reading.
Youngsters heard from professional story-teller Alim Kamara as part of the Young Readers Programme, an initiative sponsored by Ealing Broadway’s owner British Land and run in partnership with the National Literacy Trust.
The children also took part in a range of activities, including an archery competition at Decathlon store and a quiz at the Ealing Central Library – and were able to take home a book of their choice.
Since the programme launched at Ealing Broadway, it has supported more than 2,300 children, with more than 6,950 books donated across the town.
