France have confirmed their 30-man squad for the Six Nations Under-20 Summer Series.
Following a preparation camp in Nice, Les Bleuets have cut their group from the 37 players initially selected for the upcoming games against Ireland, England and South Africa.
Bordeaux full-back Louis Bielle-Biarrey, who has a European hat-trick to his name this season, retains his place in the squad along with Stade Français fly-half Léo Barré.
France finished second in the most recent Six Nations Under-20s, with their only defeat coming to a last-gasp try against Grand Slam champions Ireland in Round 2.
France Under-20 manager Jean-Marc Béderède said: “This squad is about continuity but above all the result of an evaluation over the whole year.
“We have seen the boys in their club, in selection training or with the various teams of France under 18 or under 20. The choices were difficult since we are going to Italy without players who would have deserved to be there, but these are selection choices.
“This should motivate those who will have the chance to compete in the U20 Summer Series all the more, to show enthusiasm and dynamism because these are exceptional and privileged moments.”
The Six Nations U20 Summer Series takes place from 24 June – 12 July. Fans can watch every match live. For more information visit: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJHm6BFw-9JRA1CMekNLwMg
