THOUSANDS of students are celebrating as they receive their degrees from Ealing's University of West London Ealing this week.

They were finally able to collect their awards in front of family and friends following COVID restrictions.

Monday was the first of five days of ceremonies at Twickenham Stadium – with students officially completing courses from the creative, healthcare, engineering and computing, and biomedical science degree courses.

With more than 20 ceremonies lined up, the week allows students who have finished their courses at any time over the past two years to attend.

The university will also present 10 inspiring figures with honorary degrees in recognition of their achievements. They include the author of Wild Swans, Dr Jung Chang, music promoter Jama Edwards and legal expert Courtenay Griffiths.
