CHILDREN were given career advice at the third annual Acton Gardens construction event last week.

It was held on the site of Countryside and L&Q’s £600m regeneration of the South Acton Estate.

Sixty students from Twyford C of E High School, Ealing Alternative Provision and West Thames College took part in interactive workshops involving carpentry, brickwork, plumbing, engineering, electrical, drylining and architecture.

The event also involved a construction tour of Acton Gardens, giving youngsters behind-the-scenes access to one of the largest regeneration schemes in west London, with more than 3,400 homes and community areas across the 52-acre site.
