A PUPIL from Notting Hill and Ealing High School ran the Ealing Mini Mile in Lammas Park on Saturday (25) and helped raise more than £13,000 for West Middlesex University Hospital.

Ariana Sharma, 6, ran with 27 friends in memory of her little sister, Amara, who died in 2019 when she was just 14 months old.

All the money will go towards maternity bereavement services at West Middlesex.

Their mother, Sonal, a consultant surgeon at the hospital, said she was proud of Ariana and Team Amara for their efforts.

“I am so thankful for the support my family and I received from the maternity bereavement services,” she added.

“We are so pleased to be able to give something back to help other bereaved parents who have sadly lost a baby in pregnancy or as a young child.”

Sally Kelly, specialist bereavement midwife at the hospital, said: “They have raised a fantastic amount of money for our services, which will make a real impact, helping patients and families during such sad and difficult times.”

West Middlesex recently celebrated its 100th year.
