PLANNING approval has been given for the next stage of the Acton Gardens development.

Ealing Council has agreed Phase 7.2 in the £800m regeneration of the former South Acton estate.

It involves the next section of the Avenue Road frontage, comprising 185 new flats.

Of these, 44 will be for active living (independent apartments eligible for over-55s).

A courtyard garden is also being created by the developer, Countryside, working with L&Q housing association.

Work is expected to begin this year, with the first completions due in 2024.

Acton Gardens will eventually have 3,463 homes, half of them officially ‘affordable’, with more social rent homes than previously existed.
