Concerns were raised in an article on plans for a chip shop to put up a marquee in a car park next to Bradford on Avon train station.

A group of residents said the proposed marquee by Harlees Fish and Chip Shop for dozens of customers could be dangerous and create problems for neighbours. And the Bradford on Avon preservation trust objected to the plans.

Gromet Wallace: Government will probably close it down. Look how many shops have closed

Sam Strong: Crappy looking carpark, or nice looking modern eatery? Also, yeah, let's just prevent business from growing in the town, that sounds like an excellent idea.

Tim Ewing: Let them eat chips!

Jon Wiggins: Used to be the kebab shop on that site and I cannot remember massed brawls and riots over a Donner. As ever the Preservation trust want to coat BoA in aspic and stifle any buisness or, dare the word be said.... Change.

Charlotte Anne: I think it's a nice idea. That current piece of land is just an eyesore in my opinion.

Lenny Longpound: Sadly BoA is full NIMBYs as is devizes...

Rob Geering: It actually looks quite nice, and businesses need all the help to recover from Covid19. Living in a town centre your are bound to be near shops/cafes ect.

Steve Green: I think they are right. not many people would appreciate a chip shop on their doorstep!

Jason Brown: 'Bradford on Avon preservation trust' - sounds a lot like the 'not in my backyard' trust to me. Personally I think the existing car park with its metal fencing is an eyesore. What Harley's suggesting is far more 'cosmopolitan'. And anyway, surely we should be helping local businesses get back on their feet after the pandemic?

Bryan Sheppard: It’s a great idea... much better than leaving it as a piece of wasteland and you will always get the nimbys out usually nothing but a bunch of old farts with nothing else to do except to moan about things that would benefit so many people...

According to new research, Brits think BBQ’s are the best way of eating outdoors, beating picnics as the nations favourite method of outdoor dining. Not everyone agreed.

Julie Benjamin: In the UK they’re an overrated anti-social nightmare and I use so many excuses to get out of them

Mike Gormley: There's always someone complaining. Open fire cooking was used when Adam was a boy.....

Dora Kan: Seafood by the sea out in the open would be very nice too.

This weekend, ITV announced it would be pulling an episode of Viewpoint in the wake of sexual misconduct accusations against Noel Clarke

Twenty women who knew Clarke in a professional capacity have come forward with allegations in The Guardian.

Clarke has “vehemently” denied claims of sexual misconduct. We asked for your views on if it should have been cancelled.

Chrissy Woods: If he is guilty he needs to face it and the consequences but I believe in innocent till proven guilty. Too many peoples lives/careers are being wrecked to then be found innocent when the damage is already done!

Jo Peters: These days you are guilty until proven innocent. But in the meantime its his career shot down in flames even if he is innocent.

Barbara Taylor: No. We can make our own choices about whether to watch it or not. Cancelling it when there’s only one episode left is ridiculous.

In Trowbridge, a woman died after being discovered at the bottom of a multi-storey car park in Trowbridge. Police had received a report on Sunday (April 2), after a member of the public discovered her lying at the bottom of the multi-storey car park on Castle Street.

Monty J Lychee: Terrible news. May she RIP. We need to be doing so much more for those who are struggling.

Lennie J Townsend: My thoughts are with her family, but also to the emergency services who would have worked incredibly hard to try and save this lady, such an awful maybe avoidable situation to have to face.

Rory Donaldson: No words can ever convey what a tragic situation this is, we need to be there for each other, not just in word but also in our actions.

Laura Hoskins: So so sad so sorry for the family and the person that witnessed it. Sending wishes to the family so awful
