YEAR 8 pupils at Notting Hill & Ealing High School raised more than £2,500 for the Alzheimer’s Society, despite a term spent largely with distance learning.
They raised awareness while also completing walks, baking and running.
One student completed a sponsored 30K swim and another challenged herself to complete 100 netball shots a day.
As a team they came together to create an Easter Egg Hunt within the school grounds as well as an indoor fair for their year group bubble.
Alex, who swam the £30K, said: “My mum is a GP who predominantly works in care homes and nursing homes, so many of the patients she has to treat are affected by the disease.
“I have seen first-hand how much Alzheimer's and dementia can affect [someone’s] whole life.”
Next term, Year 7 will begin the summer term with a new round of fund-raising activity for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
