CHILDREN across London can now benefit from free school science kits and can access workshops through the University of West London in Ealing.

It is part of a national project to encourage young people to take an interest in the world around them and boost uptake of science-based education and careers.

The Discovery Bag learning kits include age-appropriate experiments, workshops and lessons to spark children’s curiosity and explore questions including keeping the planet safe, if a robot can have its own ideas, why the Titanic sunk and how the Great Fire of London spread so quickly.

Workshops and teaching packs are free for schools. Contact Dr Manzoorul Abedin at Manzoorul.Abedin@uwl.ac.uk
