LONDON Mayor Sadiq Khan visited the mobile COVID testing unit in Leeland Terrace, West Ealing, this morning (8).
He was there to see the enhanced testing that is aiming to identify and help limit the spread of the South African variant of the virus.
He spoke to staff and residents, spending some time going door to door with those handing out testing kits.
“I strongly encourage anyone living in the areas to take a test,” said the mayor. This will help us to supress the spread of this highly transmissible virus and increase our understanding of the new variant.
“The situation across London remains critical with the virus at very high levels and our NHS staff under huge pressure.”
Hanwell and West Ealing is one of three areas in the capital to set up the mobile units.
