A girl and two dogs had to be rescued by firefighters after a fire broke out in a house in Beaconsfield

The girl had to be saved via a ladder to a first-floor window at a house in Horseshoe Crescent this morning.

Firefighters were called just after 11am on Monday, January 18. 

Crews from Gerrards Cross and High Wycombe had to use a ladder to rescue the girl from a bedroom window.

Two dogs were also rescued and given oxygen.

The girl, and a woman who was already out of the house when fire crews arrived, were left in the care of South Central Ambulance as they were suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke.

Firefighters managed to put the fire out using two hose reels, breathing apparatus and a fan.
