THE GOVERNMENT has said it's developing online 'privacy enhancing technologies' as part of a £29m investment in immersive technology.
A new online safety centre of excellence has been set up to address the issue.
The package includes £7 million new UK university backed National Research Centre on Privacy, Harm Reduction and Adversarial Influence to trial new ways to boost data privacy.
Caroline Dinenage, minister for Digital and Culture, said: “Add to that our forthcoming online harms legislation and we'll give tech companies the clarity and responsibility to create safer online spaces for future generations.”
