A MAN has been sentenced to 33 weeks in prison after he was stopped carrying a Rambo knife in Acton.
Jahcub Pierre-Registe, 18, from Shepherds Bush, was sentenced today (19) at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court.
On Monday, 28 August officers from the Violent Crime Task Force were on patrol in Beech Avenue, Acton Vale, in August when they saw a group of five men who appeared to be carrying out a drug deal.
As they approached, the group dispersed and were chased. One of the men stopped was Pierre-Registe. He was searched and in his waist band was a large Rambo-style knife in a sheath.
He was arrested and later charged with possession of a pointed or bladed article. He had previously pleaded guilty to the offence.
Pierre-Registe must also pay the court £400.
A spokesman for the Violent Crime Task Force said: “I hope the sentence will show those who carry knives they will go to prison if they are caught.”
