LIVING above the shop will be taking on a whole new meaning for newcomers to Uxbridge.
The former Randalls department store in Vine Street will provide house-hunters with an opportunity to live in a Grade II listed building brimming with history.
The first phase of new-build flats will be launched off-plan by Inland Homes at the end of this month.
There will be 14 studio, one- and two-bedroom homes in the converted art deco-style building, as well as 35 further one- and two-bedroom new-build flats.
Before its closure in 2015, Randalls was a family-owned store that served the Uxbridge community for 123 years.
Founded by William and Philip Randall in 1888, it sold household goods, furniture, lighting and ironware and survived some of the biggest moments in history, including both World Wars and the Great Depression.
