AN Ealing school is celebrating after winning a major category at the Independent Schools of the Year Awards.

In a virtual ceremony, the 14-strong panel of judges announced Notting Hill & Ealing High as Girls’ School of the Year for initiatives to develop “strong young women who have a clear voice".

A particular example was its three-day film festival to champion the under-representation of women in the film industry.

Headmaster Matthew Shoults said: “This award acknowledges our passion and commitment to enabling and encouraging girls to take the lead, to find their voice, and to have meaningful impact.”

Now in their third year, the awards are run by Independent School Parent magazine.
