A NATIONAL crackdown on road offences has seen police deal with a driver doing more 100 miles per hour on the Newtown bypass.
Dyfed Powys Police is taking part in the 'Project EDWARD (Every Day Without a Road Death) campaign delivered in association with police forces across the UK, as well as Highways England through their Driving for Better Business Campaign, the Association of Road Risk Management (ARRM) and the charity TyreSafe.
A week-long campaign of police enforcement activity is taking place from September 14 to 18.
On social media, a Powys Roads Policing Unit spokesman said a number of offences had been dealt with already, including the Newtown speeder.
He said: "Day 3 of #projectEdward and we have dealt with several offences already.
"100mph on Newtown bypass is not acceptable.
"Please drive safely."
