THE article by Jessie Mathewson: “In the dark about Crossrail,” (August 27), was illuminating about Sadiq Khan’s lack of knowledge about the current situation with this rail project.
Whether he was made aware of the latest situation or not, most of the potential customers are well-accustomed to Crossrail being delayed yet again. In February 2016, TfL announced that it was being renamed, “The Elizabethan Line,” in honour of the Queen.
In the same vein, I fear that if it does not come into service soon, with more and more delays, it may not even do so before our Queen expires (which I hope is many years into the future). Heaven forbid that happens, it could sadly become known as the, "Late Elizabethan Line."
