At least four fire engines were called to reports of smoke in a building in Borehamwood today.
Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue dispatched a number of crews to Station Road at 12.44pm (Tuesday) after receiving an emergency call.
The fire service were told there was smoke in the stairwell of a residential address near Elstree & Borehamwood train station.
By the time firefighters arrived, the fire was already out but firefighters stayed to ventilate the building and make sure the area was safe.
Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue tweeted that crews from Borehamwood, Watford, Garston, and Stevenage attended.
