A MEMBER of the West Mercia Police Safer Neighbourhood Team responsible for Ellesmere has appealed for information regarding wing mirrors being damaged in the town.

PC Paul Crump has issued the appeal after several incidents in the town centre which have resulted in wing mirrors being knocked off vehicles.

Several reports of incidents were posted on social media, and PC Crump also confirmed Oswestry Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) had also been informed of some of these.

It is believed some wing mirrors were damaged in Berwyn View and the town centre area, but police say it is not just those areas that have been affected.

PC Crump said: “We have had reports of a few cars having their wing mirrors knocked off.

“Not confined to Berwyn View or Town Centre area.

“Enquiries are ongoing – please ring 101 with any information, thank you.”

Anyone with information can call 101 or report an incident to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

The incident has caused frustration among users of Ellesmere’s Community News page on Facebook, with many urging those whop have been affected to contact the police.
