A postcode checker allows people to see which of their local retauaunts, cafes and pubs are taking part in the new Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

The new scheme, which starts from today (Monday), will see diners be offered half-price meals during August in an attempt to boost the hospitality sector following the Covid-19 lockdown.

The offer, which is only available between Mondays and Wednesdays, will be capped at £10 per diner and does not apply to alcohol.

Vouchers are not required for those booking tables, with the participating eateries deducting 50 per cent from the bill and charging the discount to the Treasury.

The public can also find out which of their local establishments are taking part by using a postcode checker, which has been launched by the government.

Ealing Times:

All people need to do is type in their postcode to see which businesses will be taking part in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme near them.

More than 72,000 eateries have signed up to the scheme, according to Chancellor Rishi Sunak.
