PEOPLE in Hillingdon have helped create the world’s first anthology about the COVID-19 period, with profits going to NHS front-line services.
Dr Pauldy Otermans and Dev Aditya, who live in Royal Lane, took on the challenging task of putting together a 444-page book with authors from five continents - in only 40 days.
Though there are contributions from across the UK, the example was set by heart-warming stories, personal experiences, and poems from Hillingdon people.
They include Uxbridge resident and Vice Provost of Brunel University Prof William Leahy, Umair Khan, who lives in Uxbridge High Street, NHS frontline workers like Beatrice Caitas, the renowned poet and Professor of Literature at Brunel University, Benjamin Zephaniah, plus students and staff.
The project was supported by business owners, residents and even Uxbridge DJ Jon Blower.
Together: An Anthology From The COVID-19 Pandemic, which became a best seller on Amazon, is directly raising funds for NHS charities and front-line services.
It is not the curators’ first project as they previously led a team that raised £185,000 to set up the Uxbridge cycle scheme in 2018.
