New position: Shawndell Barker
THE new manager of Parkfield House Nursing Home in Charville Lane West, Hillingdon, is Shawndell Barker.
She has worked for 20 years in nursing, specialising in the care of the elderly.
Having taught briefly in her native Guyana, South America, she realised her real calling lay in another profession.
Shawndell qualified as a registered general nurse and worked as an intensive care and emergency nurse in a private hospital and, later, a nurse manager for a gynaecological clinic.
Since moving to the UK, she has held senior managerial roles, including deputy manager and registered home manager.
Parkfield House, which has up to 44 residents, is run by Canford Healthcare.
