THERE have been no Covid-19 related deaths recorded at local hospitals for more than a week, latest figures show.

As the government continues to ease lockdown restrictions by opening pubs this weekend (July 4), we have rounded up the latest local numbers.

At both The Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading and Frimley Park Hospital, there have been no coronavirus deaths throughout the 10-day period of June 19 - June 29.

Latest ONS figures, which go as far as June 29 show that the Royal Berkshire Hospital has had no deaths since June 19, while the last death at Frimley Park was recorded on June 15.

The statistics relate to the deaths of patients who have died in hospitals and have tested positive for COVID-19, split by trust.

All deaths are recorded against the date of death rather than the day the deaths were announced.

However, cases are still being diagnosed in the area, with another case being diagnosed in Reading on June 30.

Public Health England figures show that 597 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am Tuesday morning (June 30) in Reading, up from 596 the same time on Monday.

A week before, there were 595 cases.

It means cases have increased by less than 0.5 per cent in a 24 hour period, on a par with the rate of increase across the UK.

They were among the 22,850 cases recorded across the South East, a figure which rose by 29 over the period.

In Bracknell Forest, no more cases of coronavirus had been recorded in the area for a week up to June 30.

Public Health England figures show that 263 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am Tuesday morning (June 30) in Bracknell Forest, in line with the same time on Monday. A week before, there were 264 cases.

Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.

Total cases are higher throughout the rest of Berkshire, with 458 total cases in Wokingham, 385 in West Berkshire, 469 in Slough and 312 in Windsor and Maidenhead.

Cases across Slough and Windsor and Maidenhead continue to see a rise.

Across the UK, 312,654 people had tested positive for coronavirus as of 9am on Tuesday, up from 311,965 at the same point on Monday, Department of Health and Social Care figures show.

As of 5pm on Monday, 43,730 had died.
