The Grove is preparing to reopen its hotel and restaurant next month with new safety measures in place.

Last month The Grove reopened its golf course to bring back some form of normality during the stricter lockdown period.

Now the luxury hotel has announced its hotel and restaurant will reopen on July 20, but there will be restrictions in place to assure social distancing.

There will be thermal image temperature checks when guests check in to evaluate if they have a fever.

Like most venues, there will be signs directing people where to walk to avoid congestion and promote social distancing.

Guests will be given complimentary hand gel in every bedroom, and around the hotel there will be hand sanitiser stations.

The furniture at the hotel and restaurant has been rearranged with a more spacious layout – and there will be a limited capacity of guests in particular public spaces and when dining.

All guests can be treated to express check-in and check-outs to avoid any unnecessary contact.

There will be enhanced cleaning protocols and increased frequency of cleaning, using hospital grade antibacterial products and anti-viral fogging.

Staff will have “uniform adaptions” to allow personal protective equipment (PPE) and there will be protective screens in front of house areas.

On The Grove website, a statement read: “Although our golf course is now open, the last few months have been a little quiet for us here at The Grove.

“The good new is as well as giving us an opportunity to help the local community, it’s given us plenty of time to plan for the future. With that in mind, we are delighted to announce that we will be reopening on Monday (July 20), government permitting.

“In line with guidance from the World Health Organisation, the government, Public Health England and various health and safety advisors, we have made several adjustments to the usual guest journey to safeguard both our residents and team.”

Today, Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed that hotels will be among the various businesses reopening on July 4.
